Free Digital Product Passports
for OBADA DAO, ITADA, and Tradeloop Members
- 1. Upload your inventory.
- 2. Get an ISO 20435 Digital Product Passport for each device.
- 3. Give the device's USN and your key to your data-erasure or logistics vendor so they can update its passport (key access in development).
Each device gets one identifier, the OBADA Universal Serial Number (USN), designed so that any participating marketplace generates the same USN from its manufacturer, model, and serial number. Type in the USN to see the passport.

How the Registry Works
Designed to give marketplaces a common source of truth for asset identity, while they continue operating independently. An ITADA Standards Committee pilot built on ISO 20435.

List the Asset
A reseller supplies the manufacturer, model, and serial number: by direct upload today, and through participating marketplaces once they are connected.

Generate the USN
The OBADA Universal Serial Number is derived deterministically, so every system that sees the same asset produces the same USN.

Register Once
The registry checks the USN and writes the record only if it is new, keeping one record per physical device instead of duplicate listings.

Share One DPP
Each registry record has a single ISO 20435 Digital Product Passport. Type in the USN and the DPP comes up.
Pilot status: no user accounts yet; records are not access-controlled; not for production use.
In development with the pilot: participating companies updating a device's passport with their own API key; ownership transfers recorded in the registry; and sold assets automatically delisted across participating marketplaces.
ISO 20435 is a guidance standard; an industry program can add certification on top of it, as e-Stewards did with ISO 14001.
